Weed Out the Risk (WOTR) is a classroom program, that challenges teens’ misconceptions about cannabis and presents the real risks of using cannabis and driving, or being a passenger in a vehicle with an impaired driver, in a non-judgmental manner. The program engages teens in discussion through interactive discussions, games, activities and videos.
Trained facilitators deliver this free program at schools across Canada focussed primarily on grades 9-12 but where feasible, we also present to grades 7 & 8. The program is endorsed by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Canada (CAMH) and its messaging is directly linked to the school curriculums.
“The 60 minute program consists of short videos, victim stories, statistics, and open discussions. Comments and questions are welcome at any point during the workshop. Open dialogue with students are welcomed and encouraged by the MADD Canada field representatives.”
